A NEW WEEK
A new week ... lots happening, lots about to happen. Well we have set up the SJOE! range in our shop at The Old Biscuit Mill - it looks beautiful displayed on the old table..

(Translated from the Afrikaans this means WOW! ... but this is beautiful)
This is our new range of ceramics which we are launching tomorrow, Saturday 4th from 11am - 2pm at our studio - 501 Tollgate Industrial Centre, 12 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock, Cape Town.

SJOE - NEW CERAMIC RANGE

These are some examples of our new studio range called SJOE! - which means 'WOW!' in Afrikaans (one of South Africa's eleven languages) - and is pronounced 'shu'. We are having a launch at the studio this Saturday from 11am - 2pm.
In this range the forms are all hand-built in charcoal earthenware, sometimes with sprig decoration added. But mostly the surface detail is minimal. There are several glazes used, all monochrome, giving a somewhat gentle and meditative effect.
I am really excited about this work, it is quieter than my usual bright colours and patterns - another side to me I guess!
SANDILE'S BELT BUCKLES
My assistant Sandile Cele has been developing a range of jewellery and other accessories. See him here looking awfully stylish with his fancy belt and buckle.
