'EXQUISITE'

Exquisite is the title of a group exhibition (David Walters and Friends) to be held later this month at
The William Humphreys Art Gallery in Kimberley. We were instructed to make smallish items. I have chosen to make a botanical panel composed of individual tiles with images of birds, flowers, insects etc.

EXPERIMENTING WITH JUGS

In between all sorts of activities I am experimenting with some new work. There is a jug exhibition next week at the Clay Museum..not sure if these will be ready...The images above are still in the 'leatherhard' state.

These are 3 of my portraits of women artists and writers whom I admire. I had done 2 more which unfortunately came out of the kiln with awful blistered glazes looking rather like a skin disease! Aaah ceramics....not for the faint-hearted!
The plates are currently on show at Kalk Bay Modern in Kalk Bay, Cape Town

SOUTH AFRICAN CRAFTS AT BLUECOAT DISPLAY CENTRE

A celebration of South African crafts and culture.
Included in this event is 'Ekapa' - Thirteen contemporary jewellers from Cape Town which will be presented at the Display Centre from 10 September - 22 October this year. Exhibition curated by Linda Jeanne Jones.
