Spring is like a perhaps hand
(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere)arranging
a window,into which people look(while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here)and

changing everything carefully

spring is like a perhaps
Hand in a window

and fro moving New and
Old things,while
people stare carefully
moving a perhaps
fraction of flower here placing
an inch of air there)and

without breaking anything.

Inspired by Edmund de Waal’s ‘HAREWITH AMBER EYES’  I started thinking about the social and family history around his collection of Japanese netsuke. I decided to take a lighter note and make some slightly mad ‘alien’ creatures that are miniature, and can be fun items on a dinner table or even in a printer’s tray to reflect  back on the 70’s!
Hence the name 'Clemsuke' who are posing here with other 'alien' creatures made by Peta  Becker of Projekt 
In addition, I extended the miniature range to some sitting cats....

GEARING UP FOR OUR OPEN DAY

We are busy furiously cleaning and clearing the studio, painting, last minute firings...all very excited about our open studio day happening this Saturday at 501 Tollgate Industrial Centre, 12 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock. SOUTHERN GUILD EXHIBITION

The above sweet stand is my exhibit for the exciting Southern Guild 2012 exhibition which is opening on 3rd August at the Everard Read Gallery, 6 Jellicoe Avenue, Rosebank, Johannesburg, closes on the 9th September. If you happen to be in Johannesburg, this is a show not  to be missed!
